Design Trends for 2010
Click on the Title to link to the latest trends and report for Kitchen and Bath design. Check out the zero threshold shower. I was at the Environments for Aging in San Diego earlier this week. In speaking with a couple of the manufacturers, I am hopeful that they will implement some of the suggestions and ideas that I offered. The concept for manufacturers should be that design should solve a problem aesthically.

- People in our society are limited only by our failure to design. My passion became to incorporate the concept of universal design to accomodate the variations in human ability which is ordinary for all people. Design can be a powerful influence if done well to enhance the self worth and comfort of mankind. Simple changes can be made to improve the life of someone with dementia or other cognitive challoenges. With a degrees in Interior Design and Gerontology, I established my own design firm where we specialize in universal design. Other services my firm offers are consulting, training, and presentation speaking. As the owner of Ageless Designs, I hold the designation of a Certified Interior Designer with the State of California; Certified Aging in Place Specialist; Kitchen and Bath Design member of NKBA; Gerontologist and hold membership with the Universal Design Alliance, several Senior Associations and Gerontology Associations. In addition, I volunteer my time to serve as a Commission member on the Placer County Older Adult Advisory Committee
